Gates, Glaives and embercleaves

We watch MONO BM play this fairly inexpensive gate deck. It consists of 28 land - gates only 12 creatures and the usual gates stuff (Plaza of Harmony, Gates Ablaze, Guild Summit, Gatebreaker Ram). The key combo here is Fervent Champion - Glaive of the Guildpact which can be easily extended as you will see to an Embercleave for a devastating blow, why not? As extra removal he uses Brazen Borrower and it’s instant speed. As the creator claims, this deck can give a good push in the ladder for at least through gold tier and really fast too. We tried it out and have some mixed feelings mostly as we found it lacks consistency and has some serious flaws against control decks but also against mono red (both types are prevalent in the meta).
